High Mountain Arborist is a CA Licensed Contractor (#1015645) and offers a holistic approach to land stewardship based on the principals of respect and ecological sustainability.  HMA was started by Kris Passie in 2013 and represents the culmination of his 22 years of experience in the conservation trades.  He is an ISA Certified Arborist (WE-11471A), an expert tree climber, commercial timber faller and professional trail builder.  He also holds TRAQ (Tree Risk Assessment Qualification) and CTSP credentials (Certified Tree Safety Professional).  Kris has worked on conservation projects in a professional capacity in many US National Forests, National Parks, State Parks, and on countless private and public lands across the US and Abroad. He believes that although it is important to focus on details, it is equally important to consider how those elements affect and are related to the whole.

Specializing in tree work, trail construction, restoration practices and consultation, HMA is prepared to create and co-create custom solutions in order to assimilate diverse sets of human goals and interests with the natural environment in an ecologically sustainable fashion.
